One Moment In A Lifetime

The day I picked up my first digital camera was the day my world came into focus -- literally and metaphorically.

The camera took me away from busy surroundings and instead showed me small, intimate moments and details.

Painting what I captured in the camera was a natural progression -- a creative way to enhance and individualize what I saw.

I call my work “Minutia.”  The definition means “small” and I see each painting as one small, but very precious moment in life.

Using original photos as reference, I hand-paint or sketch each creation then transfer the natural media and acrylic to canvas. I also create fine art prints of the artwork on quality watercolor papers.

The digital tools of the artists’ trade have open up a world of magical creativity. These original works of art make lovely (and totally unique) gifts for the holidays or to commemorate special events like weddings, birthdays and graduations.

I hope you enjoy my online gallery of portraits. Visit often, as new portraits and paintings will be added frequently.

Please contact me if you would like to commission a photo session with portrait or to have a portrait created from one of your own snapshots.

“An instant of life taken by itself as it is deeply probed becomes a doorway to infinity. The minutia of life will appear even more clearly to be the guides to eternity.”
